Tattoo Magazine to Launch in June 2011

Honolulu, Hi – May 10, 2011 – 808ink Tattoo Magazine is the first Tattoo Magazine to ever come out of Hawaii. 808ink Tattoo Magazine is the tattoo communities eyes and ears for health awareness and the preservation of culture and traditions in the Pacific. The only way to preserve a culture is through proper education.

808ink Tattoo Magazine has embedded itself deep within the Tattoo Community. 808ink was created as a tool to revive tourism and create employment opportunities within the community. 808ink has supported tattoo greats such as Mike Ledger, Tricia Allen, Keone Nunes and Su’a Suluape Peter by providing social media coverage for various tattoo events. 808 Tattoo Magazine will launch on June 10, 2011.

Founded in 2009, RS Zine, LLC members Ronnie Russell and Brian Slevin peruse with the vision of creating Hawaii’s first tattoo magazine starting its first event at Bar 35 with its first Cover Model contest in May of 2010. The initial plan for 808ink was to become a free publication. RS Zine saw the national potential of this magazine and the branding of 808ink and turned it into a paid publication.
